TAJ MIHELICH: RECOVERING FROM SURGERY
![]() |
If you’ve been wondering what’s up with Taj Mihelich, the legendary Giant BMX rider is healing from spinal fusion surgery in his lower back in early July. On espn.go.com you’ll find a slide show with photos by Sandy Carson, and an interview with Taj, detailing his recovery. He can’t yet ride his Giant BMX bike—in fact, he can’t even lift it. But he can ride his Giant Bowery while it’s mounted on a trainer. Details at http://espn.go.com/action/bmx/blog?post=4434314.
He’s also found time to do some woodworking, crafting a kick bike for the two-week old daughter of the drummer in his band. Think the wooden bike is too much too soon for a baby? Think again. Check out his interview with Olympia Nelson featured on his blog. She’s already learned much about riding. Taj’s photos prove it...
